Class Description:
Vinyasa Flow: “Vinyasa” emphasizes the connection between movement and breath. This is a rigorous practice with a consistant cardiovascular component. Poses, sequenced intelligently, are used to unlock the body, calm the mind, and create a moving meditation. Heavily influenced by the Ashtanga Vinyasa System as well as the Iyengar method. Expect a focus on breath, gaze, bandhas and alignment.
Open Yoga: A class designed with a deeper focus on structure and expression. This is a class less focused on the cardiovascular aspects of a “flow,” as select poses will be held for a greater duration. Don’t get it twisted– this does not mean “easier” nor does it mean “harder.” Instead, this is chance to play with a workshop-style approach. A variety of traditions, lineages, drills, and modalities will be utilized.
Private Sessions: Classically, yoga was taught one-on-one from teacher to student. This method of teaching, direct transmission, allows for a more comfortable and thorough approach to deepening the student’s practice. The work is focused on alignment, breath, focus, superficial/non-superficial muscles, as well as sequencing so as to aid in the development of a home practice. Contact to schedule an appointment.
